Beginning a Diet and getting Healthy!

Give me food, lotsa food!!!!

Another bloody diet!

This is not going to be easy for me.

The older you get the harder it is to lose weight.   I have read just about every diet book there is except the Dukan Diet by Dr Pierre Dukan. From what I read about it, it could be the one for me. I have dieted successfully and lost 20 kgs. But, what happens is that something kicks in with my 'self' and I begin to get very hungry. Will eat anything! Jon Gabriel the diet guru is so correct in his idea that we have an' animal brain' and this wants us to be fat to survive as though we just came on the Earth and are gatherers.

Once that mongrel 'animal brain' kicks in I am lost and I put the weight back on plus more. I can self talk until I'm blue in the face and it makes no difference. I've tried visualising myself as my old thinner self. Nothing keeps it off.

I love the Food Combining way of eating. It is so easy, so healthy and you can throw away your blood pressure pills if you are like me.
I'm going to go with Food Combining and just sneak up on my animal brain so it doesn't know what I'm doing!!!
My motivation is my youngest son's birthday in February 2012.

So pilgrims , wish me luck!!!!    I will search for some nice before shots.  They will be as scarce as hen's teeth so may have to take some new ones.

The new diet sounds a good one, will have to look it up and see what it's all about. I tried the Atkins, lost loads, then told because of kidney failure I can't do it, so what happens...it all goes back on! Argghh!! Good luck and let me know how it goes!

Good luck on the diet and thanks for the advice for mom's cough . I will try it. I lost 40lbs a few yrs back by eating small portions 6 or more times a day. I have to fight to keep it off since I stopped working to care for mom all I want to do is eat. I have gained inchs back but the wieght goes up and down only 5lbs. all the time. I wish I could get rid of inchs I have gained back but no luck so far. Good luck again.

It's just not fair! It is hard work to lose it. We do feel marvellous when we are skinnier. Less gut, more energy. Don't give up! XO
